I went onto http://theeducationgrid.org to learn about what it is and how it can help education. I found after some reading that it is pretty much more use of virtual worlds but this time it is ONLY for education. This means that only students and teachers can have usernames so that no one can log in for any purpose other than education. I like this idea because there are many more potential threats when dealing with the internet and computers than with a book in a classroom, and students could easily be exposed to bad things.
We have used a few different virtual worlds for this course (one of which is also one of the worlds used in TEG) and I think young students would have a better learning experience because to them it would just feel like playing video games. Even students at the college level can use virtual worlds and have fun doing so.
